Continuing Education
Theological education does not end when you graduate from seminary. One of PLTS's Dimensions of Ministry Excellence is to form our students to be learners for a lifetime, who:
- deepen participation in the practices of faith,
- challenge the mind through study and through dialogue with communities of other faiths,
- expand the heart through love of God and service to one’s neighbor, and
- energize missional vocation for the sake of the gospel.
PLTS provides a variety of ways to continue to explore theology even after you have left campus:
Praxis: Lifelong Education for Faith and Practice
Praxis is fully online and taught by well-known faculty and practitioners in a variety of fields. Its main premise is that ministry professionals and lay persons are life-long learners who need to maximize the time they have for education. It allows people to connect with PLTS to boost and enhance ministry skills, and to raise up leaders in the congregation and world.
Week of Renewal is a residential program in January, where participants come to campus for a week of study and refreshment. Each year a particular theme is selected, which includes plenary and workshop time.
Founders' Day and Luther Lectures
Our annual lectures bring noted scholars to campus for a day of presentation and discussion.
