Life in Berkeley
Our location in the San Francisco Bay Area and at the Graduate Theological Union is integral to the excellence of what we do.
An Engaging Urban Landscape
PLTS is close to everything, with easy access to the cosmopolitan city of San Francisco, and outdoor adventure trails and beaches in all directions. The Napa Valley wine country region is less than 40 miles to the north, and Muir Woods National Monument is about 20 miles away.
In this rich and vibrant setting, students become rooted in their Lutheran identity, engage across cultures, take seriously religious pluralism, and deepen their commitment to ministry in the public sphere.
On the Cutting Edge
PLTS is plugged into the world-class resources of The Graduate Theological Union and the University of California, Berkeley. Our students benefit from and contribute to this vibrant location.
